We, the inhabitants of Birtara, beg most respectfully to state that ours is a village of about five thousand people. It is a matter of great sorrow that there is not a single tube-well in the village. So, the people have to drink impure water of the ponds. As a result, many people often suffer from diseases like diarrhea, dysentery, cholera, etc. Sometimes they carry off a large number of lives. Only sinking a few tube-wells in the village may save many lives.
In the above circumstances, we pray and hope that your honor would be kind enough to sanction at least three tube-wells at an early date and oblige thereby,

Sir,
Maijdee under the district of Noakhali is a large village. About five thousand people live in this village. Our village is adorned with every modern facility. There are five tube-wells in our village. It is a matter of great regret that arsenic has recently been found in those tube-wells. Some villagers unknowingly took arsenic mixed water from the tube-wells. They have now been suffering from arsenicosis. A deep tube-well must be sunk in our village. Otherwise, villagers will suffer from various health hazards caused by arsenic.
It is, therefore, hoped that you would be gracious enough to take effective steps to sink a deep tubeWell in our village and help us to survive 9n earth properly.
