Dear Sir,

Damage Caused By An Awful Flood

The flood that has taken place recently in Khulna Division has broken all the records of the past. Never before did the level of water rise so high nor was the duration too long.
The normal activities of this area have been stopped for a long time. Many people have become homeless, foodless & clothless. The miseries of the people have known no bounds. This flood greatly damaged crops in this area. A herd of cattle has been washed away. Thousands of people have taken their shelter on rooftops, boats, and embankments. They are now having under the open air.

Moreover, the flood has already begun taking many human lives. Cholera, diarrhea typhoid, dysentery, etc. have broken out here and there. They may turn in an epidemic form at any time. The affected people now need food, clothes, medicines, pure drinking water. The government and other organizations should come forward with help to redress the miseries of the affected people. Relief camps should be opened. Govt should give loans so that they can run their families again and save their lives from sure death.

I would, in the circumstances, draw the attention of the government and other organizations to extend their helping hands to the flood-affected people of this area immediately to lessen the sufferings of the people.

Truly yours,
Jerin Khan
