Hence water is an essential element of nature. But polluted water is very harmful as it causes death threatening diseases like diarrhea, cholera, jaundice, etc. It can be polluted in many ways. Man pollutes water by throwing waste materials into it. Using chemical fertilizers and insecticides farmers pollute water. Rain and floods wash away these chemical fertilizers and insecticides to rivers, canals, and ‘ponds and thus water is polluted.

Poisonous chemicals are used in mills and factories. Throwing their waste products into rivers and canals, they pollute water. Steamers, boats, and launches throw oil, food, and human waste into the water of rivers and canals. ln this way, a large quantity of human waste and filth makes the water polluted. By this pollution, fish cannot survive. People also become ill by drinking and bathing in the polluted water. By checking the dumping of factory waste, water pollution can be minimized. Contamination of water also caused by the dumping of oil and waste by water vehicles. The rise in the temperature of the water is also a kind of water pollution. Further pollution may occur due to radioactive substances from nuclear power plants and medical.

However, water pollution is a great threat to the ecosystem as well as public health. Firstly, organisms such as fish, seagulls, birds, dolphins, etc depend on the water body die by lack of pure water. Secondly, human health is also severely affected by contaminated water. Cholera, typhoid and hepatitis result from polluted water. Heavy metals from polluted water may lead to cancer in animals including humans. We may have to face a horrible situation due to a lack of drinkable water. The total food chain will be disrupted by this. But we need to think about our future generation. If water pollution continues, no living animal will survive.

So to prevent water pollution, domestic garbage should dispose of properly. We shouldn’t dispose of oils and paints in a sink or drain. Use of plastic material should be avoided. Limiting the Use of bleaches and detergents may help in this regard. Medicines and pesticides shouldn’t be thrown into the water. Industrial waste mustn’t throw directly into water. To prevent water pollution public awareness is the major key. Strict rules need to apply properly by law enforcement organizations. If we success to prevent water pollution, our earth will be a more comfortable place for us.
